Geography
At Ditton Primary, we teach our children to know, apply and understand the skills and processes specified in the Geography programme of study within the National Curriculum. We believe that geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Three units of work are taught in each year group across the school year allowing children to explore local and diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments. We aim for children to develop a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
We use a combination of field work, maps, atlases, globes and computer mapping to explore the local area, the united Kingdom, Europe and the wider world.
